Jeffrey Seckendorf
Director of Photography
Jeffrey Seckendorf has been making movies and commercials for over twenty-five years. Beginning his career in the 1970’s as a stills photographer, he went on to a decade of directing and shooting commercials in NY and LA. This led to his current career as Director of Photography.
Jeff just wrapped photography on the live action portion of Electronic Arts' video game, NEED FOR SPEED, directed by Joseph Hodges.
Jeff received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for his silky, black and white photography on JUDY BERLIN, the winner of the 1999 Sundance award for Best Director. The wide screen epic, FINDING HOME opened theatrically in the summer of 2005 and received Best Cinematography awards at the Rome International Film Festival and the Tiburon Film Festivals. He recently completed photography on the screwball comedy, JESUS THE DRIVER.
He has photographed commercials for Pepsi, Nabisco, The NYC Ballet, Saranac Beer, Kaiser Permanente, Connecticut Lottery, Showtime, The Movie Channel, and many more. His music video credits include, among others, Waylon Jennings, Ricky Van Shelton, Prairie Oyster, and Sweethearts of the Rodeo.
Jeff spent two decades as an instructor and member of the master faculty at the International Film and TV Workshops in Rockport, Maine where he taught almost every cinematography and lighting class The Workshops offers and has taught numerous other filmmaking workshops around the world. Jeff is the founder of One On One Film Training, a program offering individual training to emerging directors and cinematographers.
Jeff is a technical Scuba diver and Scuba instructor, commercial pilot, competition aerobatic pilot, and Certificated Flight Instructor. He is also an accomplished ice and rock climber. Clips of his work and resumes can be found at www.snaproll.com.
